It's IHOP's National Pancake Day and they are giving away FREE pancakes to eveyone. From 7am to 10pm, you can get free pancakes from IHOP for FREE just don't forget to leave something for charity.
I love pancakes. When I was a kid, I ate a lot of pancakes. I also used to order pancakes at McDonalds for breakfast. I would pour a lot of syrup on it, slice them up into pieces and eat each piece as syrup drips from it. I just love eating my pancakes that way but not anymore. I stopped eating pancakes for breakfast when I stopped working 9 or 10 years ago.
I would love to eat pancakes for breakfast again but I just don’t have time to prepare it at home. I know that preparing it is easy and would only take a few minutes of my time but cooking is not really my thing. I’d rather have someone cook it for me or if it’s available from a store somewhere then I’ll just buy it. Cook it? Probably no!
Now, what is the deal with this National Pancake Day? From what I can gather, the National Pancake Day was first celebrated by IHOP in 2006. IHOP means The International House of Pancakes. Now, my question is, “is this National Pancake Day related to the Pancake Day celebrated in some countries before Ash Wednesday”?
In a way, it is related because the National Pancake Day celebration is a fund raiser started by IHOP on Fat Tuesday which is also known as Pancake Day. The only difference this year is, Pancake Day happened last February 21, 2012 but IHOP will have its National Pancake Day on February 28, 2012 which is today, I guess.
From 7am to 10pm, IHOP will offer a short stack of pancakes to their customers for FREE! Remember, this is a fund raising event for charity so people are also encouraged to donate some money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Anyway, if there is an IHOP restaurant near your home then why not give them a visit and grab a few of those pancakes for FREE! Also, don’t forget to leave a little something for charity. Why not? You did get FREE pancakes for them, right?
