Star Trek Enterprise, An Enjoyable Series

Posted in Television on December 29th, 2011 by R.O.M.E.L.O.

I spent a couple of weeks watching all four seasons of Star Trek Enterprise. The events in the series happened 100 years before the original series and it focused on the early days of Starfleet. Enterprise was Earth's first Warp 5 engine and it was captained by Jonathan Archer.

I just finished watching the entire four seasons of Star Trek Enterprise. It took me a couple of weeks but it was a very enjoyable two weeks. Too bad the series got cancelled after its fourth season. A fifth or a sixth season would have been nice because there were still some unresolved issues specially with the Romulans.

Star Trek Enterprise is like a prequel, the events in Star Trek Enterprise happened 100 years before the original series. It focused on the early days of Starfleet, its first Warp 5 Starship aptly named the Enterprise and its crew. Enterprise was captained by Jonathan Archer. He was also the son of the man who designed the Warp 5 engine used by the Enterprise, Henry Archer.

The first two seasons of Star Trek Enterprise was okay. I like the fact that they were out there exploring new worlds and meeting new species. Season three was all about the Xindi, the Sphere Builders and the Expanse. Season four had mini story arcs that were interesting at best.

I enjoyed watching all the episodes in all four seasons but I like season three the best. It felt more like an adventure with a goal or an ending. Each episode flows smoothly and I was able to follow the progression of events better. I also like the fact that season three introduced the Xindi as 5 (or 6) different animal-like alien species.

My least favorite season was season four because of its series finale. The series was supposed to be about Star Trek Enterprise but they had Riker and Troi finished it. I also didn’t enjoy the fact that the entire episode happened in the Holodeck of U.S.S. Enterprise-D. Well, I’m not really sure if that was on U.S.S. Enterprise-D. I only assumed it was because of Riker and Troi.

Anyway, as I’ve stated above, the entire series was very enjoyable and the characters were very likable because if the show was really that terrible then I wouldn’t have bothered finishing it.

The truth is, Star Trek Enterprise is both interesting and enjoyable to watch specially if you are a fan of the franchise.
